If we look at names alone, there is no question that Liverpool have one of the most complete attacking lines in Europe. Even considering the departure of Philippe Coutinho, The Reds still feature an attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino that can create havoc on opposing defences any given day.
However, Liverpool are not done adding depth to their squad yet, though. And if recent transfer rumours are to be believed, then the Merseyside club is keen to make a move for Real Madrid star Marco Asensio, easily one of the top young talents in the European scheme.
In fact, recent reports have indicated that Asensio is “well aware” of Liverpool’s interest, but at the same time, he is “entirely focused” on what’s going at Real Madrid now. Liverpool have not submitted an official bid for the winger yet, but there is talk of the Anfield side readying a “mammoth bid” for the Spain international.
Asensio, who can play all over the attacking third, would certainly be an interesting addition for Liverpool. But considering the fact that Real Madrid view him as an integral part of the team’s future, it would take a huge bid for Madrid to even consider the start of a potential negotiation. Will Liverpool be up to the challenge?
