AC Milan want to return to contention in Italy, and the club are making a big effort to land proven players that can become difference-makers in the Serie A next season.
Milan already signed Ricardo Rodriguez from Wolfsburg, Mateo Musacchio from Atalanta and Franck Kessie from Atalanta, but they are not done yet. And in an effort to strengthen their midfield and add creativity in the final meters, Milan are reportedly interested in Hakan Calhanoglu.
The Bayer Leverkusen playmaker was suspended over the final months of the season due to a contract issue when he was younger, but he should be ready to go by the start of the upcoming campaign. His future at Leverkusen remains unclear, and Milan have offered him a way out.
Talks are advanced at the moment and it has been reported Milan have already agreed to personal terms with the player. However, they need to agree on a transfer fee with Leverkusen before they can complete the deal. It is believed that the Bundesliga outfit will ask for around between €20-€30 million for the Turkey international, who joined from Hamburg for a reported transfer fee of €14.5 million back in 2014.
Calhanoglu is known for his free-kick taking abilities, and is considered one of the most promising attacking midfielders in Europe.
