One would think Ligue 1 giants PSG have their goalkeeper position well covered with Alphonse Areola and Gianluigi Buffon between the posts. But the reigning French champions are not done on their attempts to create a super team.
They want to sign Manchester United’s David De Gea and will make him the best-paid goalkeeper in the world, according to the Mail. The Spaniard is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season, and PSG are willing to offer him £300,000 a week to acquire him.
But they would also have to sell, and the biggest candidate to leave the club would be Neymar. The Brazilian has been flirting with the idea of leaving PSG and the team could eventually sell him to Real Madrid, in order to build their team around Kylian Mbappe.
If De Gea ends up leaving, then Jose Mourinho would likely target Jordan Pickford as a potential replacement. But finding a replacement for Neymar might be tough, even if PSG would still boast one of the most talented attacking lines in Europe with players such as Mbappe, Julian Draxler, Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria, among others.
Other players Manchester United could target in case they sell De Gea could be West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic or Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini.
