FC Barcelona are constantly linked with some of the best players in LaLiga and even though they don’t acquire nearly 10% of them, the rumours are always out there. And this time, Los Blaugranas are being linked with one of the promising wingers in Spain’s top-flight.
According to a report from Catalan media outlet Mundo Deportivo, the soon-to-be-crowned Liga champions are quite interested in making a push for Real Betis winger Fabian Ruiz, and they are strongly considering to submit a bid for the 22-year-old during the upcoming transfer window since they have stepped up their interest “considerably” in recent weeks.
Barcelona are expected to find some tough competition to secure the services of Ruiz, however, as both Lazio and AS Roma are also interested in Fabian. But Ruiz could enter as a potential replacement for the likes of Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez, as both are set to leave Los Blaugranas during the upcoming transfer window.
Ruiz, who has produced 2 goals and 6 assists in 30 La Liga outings this season, has a contract until June 2023 that contains a €30 million release clause. That’s not a steep amount for a top side and if we consider Barca spent €100M+ on both Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele each, then it wouldn’t be far-fetched to see Fabian wearing the Blaugrana shirt next season.
