Ligue 1 giants – and probable champions – PSG know they need to find a new head coach since Unai Emery is set to leave the team this summer. And with that in mind, they have begun talks to bring Chelsea’s Antonio Conte. In fact, the Italian’s representatives have already established contact with the French club.
Emery once again failed to deliver when it mattered the most, since he lost the Champions League’s round of 16 tie against Real Madrid. Even though PSG are all but set to win the league title, that is not enough and the management would look at Conte as the best option available to take over once the Spaniard leaves.
It seems this is Conte’s job to lose, but PSG are also planning to speak with other managers in case the Italian does not accept the position. According to a report from The Guardian, the Chelsea is boss is just one of five managers that have been shortlisted for the position. The others are Diego Simeone, Jose Mourinho, Massimiliano Allegri and Thomas Tuchel.
Conte would earn £10m per year in the French capital, a £500,000 pay rise in comparison to what he earns in Chelsea. Will that be enough to move him from London to Paris?
