Former Manchester United favourite and current Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Real Madrid before the end of next week, according to reports in Spain. Yes, you read that correctly.
The reigning Ballon D’Or winner has been linked with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu all summer long, but it seemed the gossip died down as the weeks advanced. However, once again Ronaldo is upset following the five-match ban he received after pushing a referee in the Spanish Super Cup against FC Barcelona.
The ban has made Ronaldo feel uncomfortable, and according to Spanish newspaper El Pais, the forward’s future is uncertain. In fact, a source close to Ronaldo, who has been long linked with a return to Old Trafford, told the paper the superstar is “just concentrating on playing”, but at the same time he is “angry about the five-game ban”.
In case Ronaldo leaves the Santiago Bernabeu outfit, there surely be a number of suitors waiting in line for his services. Manchester United would certainly be the main favourite to land him, but PSG, Chelsea, and Manchester City certainly have enough resources to sign him in case he is made available.
Ronaldo is coming off another impressive season with Madrid, scoring 42 goals in 46 matches for Los Blancos while leading them to the Liga and Champions League title.
