One of the most sought-after players during the January transfer window will be Bernard. The Brazilian playmaker, who currently features for Shakhtar Donetsk, is considering his options as his deal with the Ukranian side is running out.
And apparently, he will have the chance to choose his destination, as the player confirmed there are “several teams” interested in his services.
“There is interest from European clubs, many things are appearing. That is why I have to have my head in the right place, be calm and know and choose the best [option],” he told Lance!. “The most important thing for me is to continue dedicated to what I do.”
Shakhtar signed the 25-year-old from Atletico Mineiro for €25 million in 2013, and even though Bernard struggled to settle to Ukraine at first, now he looks like a key player for the team. And sadly, Shakhtar are likely to lose him for free unless they part ways with him during the January transfer window.
The left winger – who can play all over the attacking third – has netted three goals in six UEFA Champions League matches this season, and has already proved he can play against top opposition. It seems it’s a matter of when – not if – he makes the jump to a top club.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola already praised Bernard after The Citizens took on Shakhtar during the group stage in the Champions League this season, and it has been rumoured that both Chelsea and Arsenal are keen on the talented playmaker.
