Olivier Giroud’s time at Chelsea is approaching the end and very fast, if the media reports are to be believed. A couple of clubs have been linked with the French striker, as his playing time at the current club is nowhere near enough for him and now another team could be entering the race to sign him.
According to the Express, Crystal Palace are preparing to make a January bid for the Chelsea striker. The Premier League side reportedly want to improve their attacking options as they have been struggling with goalscoring for quite some time. Jordan Ayew and Christian Benteke are simply not good enough with their output on the pitch and Giroud could be the one to help the Eagles.
Still, the Frenchman’s big wage demands may end up being too big of an issue for Palace, with Chelsea also set to ask for a fee of around £5 million. Giroud has only featured in four Premier League matches for Chelsea since the start of the season and he would welcome the move ahead of EURO 2020 in order to fight for his place in the tournament.
