The potential arrival of Ousmane Dembele to FC Barcelona has been one of the biggest transfer stories this summer.
The French winger is reportedly keen to join the Camp Nou outfit, but Borussia Dortmund have not been an easy team to deal with for Barca. The Bundesliga giants want at least €150 million for their star player, but their stance has softened over the past few days and now both parties are inching closer towards an agreement.
According to a report from MARCA, Dortmund have lowered their economic expectations in regards to the transfer of Dembele and would be willing to accept an offer in the range of €140 million.
Barcelona latest offer for Dembele was around the €130 million mark, although the transfer fee was “only” €100M and the rest of the money would have been available through certain performance variables. However, Dortmund rejected that offer because they want more money and a different payment method.
Dortmund are reportedly set to wait until Sunday to make the transfer happen because if the transfer goes through, BVB want to have enough time to find a replacement. Based on their recent history, Barcelona need to move quickly if they want to land the 20-year-old winger. But at least they are closer to sign him than they were a few days ago.
