PSV Eindhoven striker Donyell Malen has been grabbing headlines left and right over the past four weeks or so. The Dutch youngster, who previously had a spell with Arsenal’s youth team, has been close to unstoppable at the Eredivisie level and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him getting linked with a move away from the Netherlands sooner than later.

With that in mind, Liverpool are reportedly interested in the Dutch international. The former Arsenal youngster has scored 10 goals in 13 games this season for PSV, including five in a single game against Vitesse. He has also found the back of the net in the UEFA Europa League.

The idea behind a potential Liverpool move for Malen is quite clear. Jurgen Klopp wants a quality forward to provide cover for first-choice striker Roberto Firmino, and Malen would certainly fill that need since he’s an upgrade over Divock Origi. Plus, Malen is only 20 so he would also fit as a potential long-term core for the future.

If a move to Liverpool becomes a reality, then this would be Malen’s second stint in England. He previously featured for Arsenal at the youth level from 2015 to 2017, and was an absolute star for The Gunners since he scored 27 goals in 67 games.
