Juventus have been quite active in the transfer market in recent days. The reigning Serie A champions already added a quality midfielder in Blaise Matuidi, but are reportedly interested in bringing another talent, this time from Spain.
According to a report from Tuttosport, Juventus are keen to capture the services of Andre Gomes this summer. Even though Juventus’ main alternative is Kevin Strootman, the Portuguese appears as an alternative in case the Roma man becomes too expensive.
Steven N’Zonzi is also a potential target for Juventus, and the Sevilla defensive specialist is 4/1 to join the Old Lady before the transfer window shuts.
Massimiliano Allegri reportedly loves Gomes’ style and box-to-box ability, so he would fit right in with what Juventus want to do. The main problem would be Gomes’ price tag, as Barca are not willing to sell him for anything less than a fee around €45 million.
Andre Gomes’ potential departure would be triggered by Jean-Michaël Seri’s arrival from Nice. Barca are quite close to complete a deal for the Ivory Coast international, and that would put Gomes in contention with Paulinho, Andres Iniesta, Sergi Roberto, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Seri to get some first-team minutes.
Andre Gomes arrived from Valencia on a €30M fee last season, and registered three goals with three assists in 47 appearances across all competitions for Los Blaugranas.
