It is not a secret that Riyad Mahrez wants to leave Leicester City this summer. However, The Foxes are not willing to sell one of their star players for pennies on the dollar.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has been linked with a potential move to AC Milan, Arsenal and AS Roma, among others, but the latter have been the only club that have submitted an official offer to land the Algerian. However, Leicester rejected a bid for their playmaker.

In fact, Leicester’s manager Craig Shakespeare has confirmed Roma have had an offer for Riyad Mahrez rejected because it under the club’s valuation of the player. The details of that offer have not been revealed yet.

It certainly is a disappointing scenario for Mahrez, who has tipped to move to FC Barcelona one year ago after becoming one of the most dominant playmakers in the English Premier League following Leicester’s title-winning campaign. But his desire to leave got in the way of his performance last season, and he was not able to show the same consistency, thus decreasing his value.

That being said, Mahrez remains one of the most skilled players in the Premier League and there is no question he would thrive in a top European club. But unfortunately for him, his fate is tied to what Leicester decide in the coming weeks.
