Manchester United and Liverpool are preparing bids for England sensation Jadon Sancho claims the Daily Mirror.

The Borussia Dortmund winger is one of European football’s hottest prospects and is at the vanguard of young English talent in the Bundesliga. With eight goals and 10 assists for BVB this season, the 18-year-old is earning rave reviews as Dortmund stormed to the top of the table.

At his pre-match press conference this week, Jurgen Klopp revealed he wanted to sign the England international when he left Manchester City in 2017 but is determined to land the winger this summer.

United, meanwhile, are keen on rubbing the salt into the noisy neighbours wounds by signing Sancho. However, the club is well aware that they need to finish in the top four to attract the player.

Sitting fourth, United are under pressure from Arsenal and to a lesser extent, Chelsea, but are desperate to qualify for next season’s Champions League so they can attract players of Sancho’s calibre.

Dortmund are reluctant sellers. Sancho’s current contract expires in 2022 and with his performances continuing to impress, is likely to find a new deal coming his way before the end of this year.

However, both Premier League clubs are well capable of affording the player and with a fee expected to be in excess of £100m, can both afford the fee.

If both clubs get into a bidding war, the money may get too high for Dortmund to refuse.
