Leon Bailey keeps popping up on the rumour mill on a daily basis, but all signs indicated that Bayer Leverkusen were not willing to sell their star prospect any time soon. Until the club’s sporting director, Rudy Voller, gave teams pursuing the 20-year-old Jamaican a glimpse of hope.

The former Germany striker said the team would consider offers for attacker Leon Bailey if a club were to offer “crazy sums” in a potential transfer bid. However, it seems that has not happened yet, as they have rejected every single approach so far. Chelsea already submitted an offer, but Leverkusen did not accept it.

The 20-year-old winger is enjoying a breakout season in the Bundesliga, and has already established himself as one of the fastest players in the competition. He can produce as well, however, since he has seven goals with four assists in 15 matches across all competitions for the side.

Bailey is under contract at 2020, and joined Leverkusen from Genk in January. Several Premier League sides have expressed their interest. Chelsea appear to be the front-runners to land him, but Manchester United have also expressed interest. Leverkusen have reportedly said they are not selling the player, but that might change after Voller’s most recent statement.
