Juventus are trying to oversee every possible detail before the start of the 2017-18 Serie A season, as the reigning champions want to win the league for the seventh straight year. And they know they must remain active in the transfer market to comply with their objectives.
According to Juventus’ general manager, Beppe Marotta, that’s the plan. The Old Lady sealed the arrival of Blaise Matuidi this Friday, but that’s not the only signing they are planning and Marotta confirmed there could be further additions in the coming days.
“There are still 15 days and the only area we won’t be making changes in is in goal,” he said. “You’ve got to take the opportunities when they arise to raise the level of quality.”
One of the players that could come is Leonardo Spinazzola, who is already contracted to Juve but is halfway through a two-year loan deal at Atalanta. The first offer was rejected, but Juve are reportedly planning an increased bid to bring the player back before the new season starts this weekend.
What we do know is that Juventus are quite active on the market. Odds-wise, they have been linked with several players such as Cedric Soares (8/1), Keita Balde (4/6), Steven N’Zonzi (4/1), and Jack Wilshere (8/1), among others.
It remains to be seen which other players Juventus might add, but there is no doubt they are taking the right approach here. AC Milan and AS Roma are vastly improved, Lazio remain a threat, and Napoli have maintained the same squad from last season. So Juventus must improve if they want to remain at the top of the Serie A in the coming months.
