Arsenal In Crisis: Oxlade-Chamberlain Joins Alexis In Wanting Out

Arsenal‘s summer is lurching from crisis to disaster. Already reeling from the imminent departure of Alexis Sanchez and the uncertainty over Mesut Özil’s future, the Gunners were handed another blow when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain signalled his patience had snapped with the north London club.

The England international is one of 10 players whose contracts expire in June 2018. According to the Sunday Times, Oxlade-Chamberlain is frustrated that talks have yet to begins to the point where he has let it be known that he willing to leave the Emirates this summer.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a keen admirer of the versatile midfielder, who played at left wing back with some aplomb during Arsenal’s 2 – 0 FA Cup final win over Chelsea. It was the fifth position Oxlade-Chamberlain filled for the Gunners, following stints in central midfielder, right wing, right wing back and left wing.

Meanwhile, Alexis Sanchez is angling for a move to Manchester City, according to Bayern Munich. The Chilean striker is demanding £420k per week, if reports in the Sunday Mirror are to be believed.

Bayern believe the demands, which increase on a weekly basis, are a ploy to force a move to the Etihad and be reunited with his former boss, Pep Guardiola.

For Arsenal, the storm clouds are gathering over north London. Arsène Wenger faces a tough job keeping hold of both players but if he fails, the Gunners season could be sunk before it begins.
