It is not a secret that Borussia Dortmund want to sign Michy Batshuayi on a long-term deal. The Belgian striker joined the Bundesliga outfit on loan from Chelsea during the January transfer window and has thrived, to the point that he is making fans forget about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But if Dortmund want him, then they will have to pay a substantial fee for the former Marseille star. According to a report from the London Evening Standard, Chelsea are looking to receive around £50 million to part ways with Batshuayi.
The 24-year-old was loaned to Borussia Dortmund after struggling for game time at Stamford Bridge, but he made the most of that chance and has looked absolutely impressive. He netted seven goals in his first 10 Bundesliga appearances before suffering a season-ending ankle injury, but make no mistake. Dortmund will do everything in their power to keep him at the Signal Iduna Park on a long-term basis.
It seems the ball is on Chelsea’s side now. The Blues have said they do not want to part ways with the Belgian since they believe he can be an important part of the team going forward. But considering he is currently blocked by both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, it might not be the worst idea to cash in on him. Especially since he hasn’t been able to adjust to the Premier League.
At least on paper, it seems like a win-win situation for all parties involved.
