Another Brazilian talent could be on his way to join FC Barcelona if the latest reports are deemed to be true.
According to Spanish outlets, Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho has suggested that the Spanish giants might try to sign Brazilian international and Liverpool star Roberto Firmino, although it is not clear if that would happen during the January or the winter transfer window.
Nonetheless, it is clear that the potential arrival of Coutinho would have an immediate effect on the side, since the current Reds star would join the Camp Nou outfit in order to replace Luis Suarez, whose game has seen an steep decline over the past few months.
The aforementioned reports have indicated that Barcelona are “widely impressed” with Firmino’s pressing and work ethic, two traits that would definitively come in handy for Los Blaugranas. Coutinho already joined from Liverpool and while he got off to a slow start, he is now thriving for Los Blaugranas.
There are no indications on whether Liverpool are open to part ways with Firmino, though, as he is an integral member of the team’s attacking line next to the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. But as we already witnessed this past summer, Barca usually get what they want when it comes to potential transfers.
