AC Milan have been the most active team in the transfer market by far. And it seems the Serie A giants are not over when it comes to improve their squad in an effort to mount a serious title challenge against Juventus, AS Roma, and Napoli.
To date, Milan have signed players such as Hakan Calhanoglu, Leonardo Bonucci, Lucas Biglia and Andre Silva. However, they still need a proven goalscorer who can put them over the top. And based on recent reports, Milan are looking into three options to fill that role: Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Andrea Belotti, and Alvaro Morata.
The option that makes more sense is Aubameyang, who is coming off a 31-goal season with Borussia Dortmund and would be looking to move elsewhere. However, his price tag is quite elevated and even though Milan have shown a will to spend, they are not going to overpay. They want to sign players only if the price fits their budget.
The same reasoning can be said about Morata. The Real Madrid forward was close to join Manchester United, but the move fell after The Red Devils landed Romelu Lukaku and he is now looking for other options. Similar to what happens with Aubameyang, however, Milan want to sign the Spain international “but under their own conditions”, so it seems unlikely both teams will reach an agreement any time soon.
Belotti is the further option, but he is a proven player in the Serie A thanks to 26 goals in 35 league appearances last season for Torino. The 23-year-old would give Milan quite a boost, and would be a massive upgrade over the likes of Andre Silva and Carlos Bacca.
It remains to be seen if Milan are able to sign any of these three attackers, but one thing is certain: they are not done dealing yet.
