PSG are ready to make massive changes to their squad.
Considering the Ligue 1 giants need to balance their books after spending around €400 million to bring in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe over the summer, there is talk of several players potentially leaving the side as soon as January. Otherwise PSG could receive punishments that ban them from acquiring, similar to what happened to Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid over the past few years.
No one can doubt the depth of the current PSG squad. And that is why several interesting names could eventually hit the market early next year. Angel Di Maria ranks at the top of the list of potential departures, but he is not the only player who might have to find new teams in the near future.
Julian Draxler, Lucas Moura, Javier Pastore, Kevin Trapp and Hatem Ben Arfa could wear another shirt in the coming months as well. All the aforementioned players are deemed as surplus by manager Unai Emery, so it is entirely possible that we can see several transfers involving PSG in the coming months.
There are several pretenders for each player, though, and that should speed things up. Di Maria has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona, while Arsenal and Manchester United have kept close tabs on Draxler and Lucas, respectively.
Offloading Pastore, Trapp and Ben Arfa might be more difficult, but it won’t be impossible. In any case, PSG are ready to undergo massive changes. And those are likely to come sooner than later.
