PSG have been one of the hottest teams in the transfer market and made the biggest transfer of the last few years after acquiring Neymar from FC Barcelona. However, they are not done in the transfer market and now is the time to offload some of the current squad members.
The summer clear-out began this week when Jese was sent to Stoke City on a season-long deal, but up to five other players could leave the side in the coming days. Sporting director Antero Henrique is working hard to find new homes for Blaise Matuidi, Lucas Moura, Serge Aurier, Hatem Ben Arfa and Grzegorz Krychowiak.
Aurier, Ben Arfa and Krychowiak were all told that they are free to find new clubs at the start of July, and did not travel with PSG for the International Champions Cup. Meanwhile, Lucas became expendable with the arrival of Neymar, and Matuidi could leave since there are lots of teams interested in his services.
There are suitors for all the aforementioned players, though. Aurier has been linked with a move to Manchester United, Juventus are keen on Matuidi, and both Nice and Lyon are keen to land Ben Arfa. Meanwhile, Krychowiak has attracted interest in France, Spain, and Italy. But PSG’s asking price and his high salary are big hurdles to complete a move.
Finally, Lucas Moura has not trained with the squad in the past few weeks and could leave soon, as both AS Roma and Liverpool are keen to capture the Brazil international.
