One of the biggest transfer sagas during the upcoming summer will be the one of Gareth Bale. The Welsh winger is facing an uncertain future at Real Madrid since there is not a lot of clarity regarding his future and whether he will stay with the club or leave for greener pastures.
For what is worth, Bale already knows what he wants to do, though. The former Tottenham star and current Wales international is determined to fight for a place in the starting XI next season, as he wants to “prove himself” under new boss, Julen Lopetegui.
Bale has been linked with a move to Manchester United, as the Premier League side has been trying to sign him ever since he played for the Spurs. And while a move would have been a realistic option had Zinedine Zidane continued with Real Madrid, the departure of French tactician certainly opens a door for Bale at the Santiago Bernabeu. One that was not open last season where he spent most of the campaign riding the bench.
Bale certainly made his presence felt in the UEFA Champions League final where he scored twice against Liverpool, and during the course of the campaign he finished with 21 goals and seven assists across 39 appearances in all competitions.
The Wales international is under contract at Santiago Bernabeu until the end of the 2021-22 season.
