Robert Lewandowski might be one step closer to join Real Madrid, although that does not say much when it comes to a potential transfer since Los Blancos would still have to reach an agreement with Bayern Munich. But the first step has been taken.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Liga giants have reached a deal with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski when it comes to personal terms. The Polish is having another stellar season for the Bundesliga giants, but he is said to be searching for a new challenge and would certainly welcome a move to Santiago Bernabeu.

That same report indicated that Madrid’s chairman Florentino Perez had several meetings with the player’s agent, Pini Zahavi, and that after several conversations both sides have reached an agreement on a two-year contract with the option to extend it for a further third season.

But now comes the hardest part for Madrid since they need to reach an agreement with Bayern on the transfer fee even though the Bavarians said they don’t want to part ways with their star forward.

The 29-year-old has been in excellent form ever since he joined the Bavarians, going on to score 100 goals in 120 Bundesliga appearances.
