There’s no doubt the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has lifted Manchester United to unexpected heights. The Red Devils are yet to lose under the Norwegian’s tutelage and the former striker, who remains on a caretaker role, is already making plans towards the 2019-20 season.

With that in mind, Solskjaer has apparently decided that two players are not likely to continue at Manchester United, and could even face an Old Trafford exit during the current January transfer window. These are Marouane Fellaini and Marcos Rojo.

The Belgian playmaker arrived to Old Trafford with David Moyes and played a big role when Jose Mourinho was around. But since the team’s style has changed following Solskjaer’s arrival, suddenly the towering midfielder does not appear to be needed anymore. He’s clearly surplus to requirements on Solskjaer’s eyes.

The same thing could be said regarding Rojo. The Argentinian defender has struggled with injuries for the better part of the past two seasons and even though he represented Argentina in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he simply hasn’t been fit enough to warrant a future role on the side. Especially with the team reportedly targeting help on defence.

AC Milan, Porto and Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande have all been credited with interest in Fellaini. Meanwhile, Rojo has been linked with an Argentina return since Boca Juniors are keen to sign him.
