Alexis Sanchez is more and more likely to leave Arsenal in the coming days, and it seems a transfer should be completed in the next few hours or days, at the latest. Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all vying for the Chilean’s signature.
As such, The Gunners are reportedly looking for replacements since the departure of Alexis would leave a considerable void on the team’s attacking line. But based on recent reports, it seems Arsenal have already established their target.
According to the Metro, Arsenal are decided to make Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang their next signing in case Alexis leaves the team. Both players possess similar characteristics, and it seems clear Aubameyang wants to leave Dortmund as soon as possible. In fact, he was left out of the team’s latest match “due to disciplinary reasons”, lightining up the rumours of a potential transfer to happen in the coming days.
The numbers back Aubameyang up, though. The Gabon international has been mostly playing as a striker over the next few years at Dortmund, and has evolved into one of the most prolific scorers in Europe. In fact, he has 13 goals and three assists in 15 Bundesliga appearances this season.
The Gunners could use his scoring ability, as they are the lowest scoring team inside the top six, and have actually slipped down to sixth place, with eight points now separating them and their usual fourth spot.
