Isco Extends His Contract With Real Madrid Until 2022

One of the best players for Real Madrid over the last 12 months has reportedly extended his tenure with the current UEFA Champions League title holders.

According to an official statement from the club, Real Madrid has extended Isco Alarcon’s contract. As a result, the Spain international will now remain under contract with Los Blancos until the summer of 2022. The new deal will also feature a massive €700million (£622m) buyout clause. The Spain midfielder will sign the new five-year deal on Friday lunchtime.

A statement from the club declared: “Real Madrid CF and Isco have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which is linked to the club until June 30, 2022.

“Tomorrow Friday, at 14:00, Isco will appear before the media in the press room the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.”

The new contract comes as a big reward for Isco, as the former Malaga star was struggling for regular action, and at one point he was linked with a move to the Premier League. He entered the final 18 months of his contract at odds with manager Zinedine Zidane, who openly questioned his commitment and desire to be with the club.

However, Isco got his chance when Gareth Bale got injured, and he did not disappoint. Isco played a pivotal role in Madrid’s La Liga/Champions League double last term.

Now, the playmaker has become one of the first names on the starting XI for both Madrid and Spain, and is thriving in a free role. And has been rewarded for it.
