As days go by, it seems increasingly likely that Karim Benzema won’t be playing for Real Madrid next season. The French striker has been the fans’ scapegoat for the team’s poor performances this season, and he hasn’t had a good year scoring-wise so Los Blancos would be set to find him a replacement during the upcoming transfer window.

The Frenchman has been linked with a Santiago Bernabeu exit several times in the past few years, but this season it seems it will be the time when the rumours come to fruition. And there are two teams that are keeping a close eye on what will happen with the former Lyon star.

According to reports, both Borussia Dortmund and PSG are keen to make a move for the 30-year-old, who could benefit from a change of scenery in order to re-discover his best form.

PSG are interested in signing Benzema in order to replace Edinson Cavani, who also seems to be on his way out of the Ligue 1 giants. And while Dortmund appear quite behind PSG in the potential negotiations scenario, they would be interested in the French star in case they can’t keep Michy Batshuayi past this season.

Benzema has only scored nine times across all competitions this season, and it seems clear that his confidence is at an all-time low right now. Leaving Real Madrid seems like the best alternative right now, and at least two top European sides are keen to welcome him with open arms. As long as they reach an agreement with Real Madrid, of course.
