Arsenal and Everton are on alert as Udinese signalled their willingness to sell Jakub Jankto, claims talkSPORT.
The Zebrette are demanding £22m for the services of their 21-year-old midfielder who has earned rave reviews this season. Juventus and Inter Milan are also monitoring the Czech Republic’s progress but Jankto has previously expressed interest in moving to a new league.
Jankto joined Udinese in 2014 from Slavia Prague, in a €700,000 deal, before spending a season on loan at Ascoli. Only 15 games into the season, the Czech starlet has already matched his best goal return of the season with 5 so far.
News that Santi Cazorla requires further surgery has upped Arsenal’s urgency to add depth to their midfield. The Spaniard suffered the setback as he returns from a career-threatening ankle ligament injury.
Arsenal are putting no pressure on the mercurial midfielder but recognise that both Aaron Ramsey, 26, and Jack Wilshere, 25, have a track record of injury problems. Jankto is seen as ideal competition for the pair.
Everton meanwhile are interested in Jankto to lead their midfield under new boss Sam Allardyce. While the Toffees are primarily focused on signing strikers in January, the former England head coach knows his side also lacks a cutting edge in midfield. Jankto, with an eye for goal as well, ticks all the boxes the Merseyside club are looking for.
