Liverpool have been looking at the transfer market looking to find a replacement for Philippe Coutinho. Even though the current attacking line of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah has been productive, there is no question The Reds could use another attacking player.

They had been linked with a move for Thomas Lemar, but apparently Liverpool has switched targets ahead of the upcoming summer and the French internatonal would only be an alternative. Instead, the team’s priority now would be Leon Bailey, according to a report from The Mirror.

However, Liverpool will not be the only team giving the Jamaican international a long, hard look. The Bayer Leverkusen forward is now seen as Liverpool’s priority, but they will have to compete with sides such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and even FC Barcelona for the 20-year-old Jamaica international. All five teams have reportedly made scouting trips to watch the Bundesliga star in action.

Bailey won’t come any cheaper than Lemar, though, as Leverkusen are reportedly willing to wait for an offer in the £100m range to part with their star talent who has taken the Bundesliga by storm this season. Will any side bite, or will Bailey remain with Leverkusen once the upcoming season starts?
