One of Manchester United’s biggest weaknesses this season has been the lack of a consistent playmaking threat in midfield. Someone like James Maddison at Leicester, Kevin de Bruyne at Manchester City or Mohamed Salah at Liverpool.
Apparently, The Red Devils have found the player they want to sign to boost their playmaking skills. Even though Juan Mata and Andreas Pereira have been playing well in recent weeks, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows he needs a game-changing player in that n° 10 role. And he believes Christian Eriksen would be the best addition available.
According to several reports, Manchester United are open to submit a fresh transfer bid for Eriksen during the upcoming January transfer window. Sky Sports have reported Manchester United are ready to make Tottenham an offer of £42m in January to secure the signing of the Danish international.
Eriksen’s contract expires next summer and if he doesn’t sign an extension with the Spurs before January 1st, 2020, then he would be elegible to negotiate with clubs overseas. Real Madrid are keen to make a move for the Dane star, but they are likely to wait until the end of the season to sign him as a free agent.
The Red Devils want to block that, though. And they are willing to go the extra mile to secure the services of Tottenham’s star player.
