AC Milan are reportedly on the verge of acquiring one of the brightest talents coming out of the Brasileirao in recent years.
According to a report from Brazilian media outlet Globoesporte, Il Rossonero are only details away from completing a deal for highly-rated Brazilian star Lucas Paqueta, who currently plays for Flamengo. The 21-year-old has been attracting interest from European teams for the past 18 months, if not more.
Teams such as Liverpool, Manchester United and PSG all said to be interested in acquiring his services. However, it appears as if Milan have won the race for his services, and Paqueta would join the Italian side during the upcoming January transfer window. The attacking midfielder should inmediately contend for a starting spot in a crowded attacking line.
In fact, it is believed that Paqueta made the choice to join Milan after he was convinced by the team’s sporting director, Leonardo, who’s also Brazilian. With that being said, Paqueta won’t be a cheap transfer and it is believed that AC Milan will have to pay around €35 million plus bonuses to get their man in January.
Paqueta has been on top form for Flamengo this season, registering nine goals and four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions for the Brazilian giant.
