There’s no question that Manchester United must bolster their squad ahead of the 2019-20 season. And one of the areas where The Red Devils are keen to strengthen their depth is their midfield.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows it, and he’s already looking at potential targets for the 2019-20 season. According to a report from the Evening Standard, the Norwegian tactician is looking closely at these four players: Bruno Fernandes, Idrissa Gueye, Declan Rice and Youri Tielemans. All four are under consideration by the Manchester United hierarchy.

The safer choice here would be Gueye, although the Everton star wants to play in the Champions League next season so that might complicate United’s chances of landing him. Tielemans would be a very good addition to the side – especially if Ander Herrera leaves to join PSG – but Leicester have the first option to acquire him for a £40 million bid.

Rice has been one of the biggest sensations of the Premier League this season, but it remains unclear whether West Ham United are keen to part ways with their star playmaker after just one season in the top-flight.

Last but not least, Bruno Fernandes is the best player out of this bunch but he’s reportedly close to join Manchester City. Safe to say The Red Devils are not able to compete with The Citizens on a potential bidding war.
