Florian Thauvin has become one of the hottest transfer commodities heading into the upcoming summer, and the Olympique Marseille star will undoubtedly be a wanted man after the stellar season he is enjoying for the Ligue 1 side.
Thanks to 23 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions, the attacking midfielder – who has mostly operated as a right winger during the current term – is on the shortlist of some of the top clubs in Europe. And Serie A giants Napoli have been showing interest of late.
Thauvin would fit perfectly in Napoli in case the move completes. There is a lot of talk regarding a potential exit of Jose Callejon this summer as the wants to get a bit younger on the attack, and Thauvin would fit his place perfectly. Considering he is only 25 years old, he would have a few years left to improve before hitting his prime.
In fact, Tuttosport reported that Napoli recently contacted Marseille sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta to enquire about the possibility of purchasing Thauvin this summer and even though the response was positive, The Olympians are not going to part ways with their star winger for anything less than €50 million. It makes sense given the kind of season he has had, though.
Thauvin scored 20 goals and set up another 10 in 33 Ligue 1 outings, helping Marseille mount a serious Top 4 bid.
