Atlanta United playmaker Ezequiel Barco has been heavily linked with a European move before the start of the 2020 MLS season. And apparently, there are several suitors that would be open to make a move for the former Independiente player.
The latest team to join the race has been Valencia. Los Che are in need of a massive boost in the attacking midfield department, and Barco would be a great signing for both the short-term and long-term pictures. He has already proven to be “too good” for the MLS and it seems he will move into a more competitive environment in a matter of time.
Los Che, who already have another prized prospect in Lee Kang-in, are not the only team that has expressed interest in making a move for Barco. Manchester United, Arsenal, Inter Milan and AS Roma have been open to complete a switch for the Argentina U20 international. Meanwhile, Atlanta have already said they will only allow Barco to departure on a transfer, not a loan.
The 20-year-old Barco had four goals and three assists in 19 appearances for Atlanta United during the 2019 MLS season. He also registered two assists in four CONCACAF Champions League outings. Can Valencia steal him away from the other suitors?
