Mexico international Hirving Lozano, worldwide-known as ‘Chucky’, has become the latest star to admit that he wants to eventually play in the English Premier League. And he would be keen to make it happen sooner than later.
The Eredivisie star, who has been tearing the league up since his arrival before the start of the 2017/18 season, has been heavily linked with an EPL move in the past. He was expected to move to Manchester United in 2016, but instead PSV ended getting his signature one year later. But his stock went through the roof following the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Lozano scored against Germany in that tournament and emerged as an attacking threat capable of contributing at the highest level. And while The Red Devils remain interested in his services, they could face competition since Tottenham are also monitoring the Mexican star closely. The Spurs have had a first-hand look at Lozano since they’ve played him twice in the UEFA Champions League this season.
“It’s nice that English papers talk nicely about me. It’s special. Personally I say thanks for the nice words. I hope that God, some day, gives me a shot at playing in the Premier League. I think that Premier League is great”, he said after the loss to Spurs on Wembley.
Lozano has confessed that he used to follow Manchester United as a kid. Could that push The Red Devils to make an approach for him in the near future?
The PSV superstar has made 11 Eredivisie appearances this season, scoring eight goals.
