The transfer window might be three months away from opening, but that shouldn’t stop some of the best teams in the world to be already looking at potential reinforcements or replacements. And this includes Arsenal, as The Gunners have been testing the market in an effort to find a suitable replacement for Aaron Ramsey.
The Welsh star is set to leave the club either in January or during the summer, but the club know they need to replace him. And while several names have been connected with a move to the Emirates Stadium, the latest one to get linked with an Arsenal switch is none other than Hector Herrera.
The Mexico international is currently under contract at FC Porto, but he will be a free agent next summer and all signs indicate he is keen to move elsewhere. He plays quite similar to Ramsey, so he could transition himself to the Premier League quite well. And he doesn’t lack international experience, since he’s been playing in the Champions League for quite a while, as well as international tournaments with El Tri.
Since Herrera will be a free agent in the summer, he would be eligible to negotiate with other teams in January … unless he signs an extension. But if that isn’t the case, then Arsenal should move quickly. He could be an interesting addition to the side, no question about it.
