Inter Milan have been one of the most active teams during the transfer market this summer. Their impending return to the UEFA Champions League has forced them to bolster their side considerably, and have already added quality players such as Radja Nainggolan, Sime Vrsaljko and Lautaro Martinez, among others.
However, the Serie A giants are keen to bolster their squad on the attacking third and particularly on the winger roles, as the depth behind Ivan Perisic and Antonio Candreva is quite scarce, to say the least. And one name that has been mentioned as a potential alternative is the one of Keita Balde.
Balde, a Senegal international who represented the African country during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, already knows what it’s like to play in the Serie A since he featured for Lazio. In fact, 16 goals in 31 Serie A appearances during the 2016-17 season. That allowed him a move to Monaco, where he registered eight goals and five assists in 23 Ligue 1 appearances last term.
Inter have reportedly submitted a bid for the 23-year-old, but there have not been details regarding the offer. And there is no clarity on whether Monaco will accept it, either.
Balde would be a perfect fit for Inter since he can play all over the attacking third. However, he profiles best as a left winger and his arrival would give Inter some much-needed depth in the final meters.
