FC Barcelona could land two of their top transfer targets in the coming days. Los Blaugranas are making progress on their talks with Liverpool regarding Philippe Coutinho, and have now centered their focus in Ousmane Dembele.
The 20-year-old winger from Borussia Dortmund has emerged as one of the most interesting wingers in Europe, and there is no question he would fit perfectly in Barcelona’s plans. In fact, the winger himself acknowledged on Monday that he wants to join Barca and is reportedly waiting for both clubs to agree on a deal.
That is where things get tricky. Dortmund have insisted their star player is not for sale, and they declined to name a price tag for the player when Barcelona enquired for it. However, it is believed that Dortmund would be willing to listen to offers above the £90 million mark.
Dembele scored 10 goals in 49 appearances for Dortmund last season after joining the club for £13m from Rennes in the summer.
He was linked with a move to a number of Europe’s top clubs before signing for Dortmund in 2016, and it seems quite hard to imagine Dortmund keeping him much longer based on how much he has progressed over the past 12 months.
