One of the biggest priorities for AS Roma next season is to improve both the depth and the quality of their midfield during the upcoming transfer window.
Daniele De Rossi is not getting any younger, Kevin Strootman could use some company and Radja Nainggolan is likely to leave the club next summer as there are several teams interested in him. Therefore, the Giallorossi side are already testing the market looking at potential signings, and have set their sights on two players.
According to a report from Corriere Dello Sport, Roma are keen on both Dani Ceballos and Bryan Cristante looking towards the upcoming season. Ceballos currently plays for Real Madrid, while Cristante has been one of the best attacking midfielders in the Serie A this term and defends Atalanta.
Ceballos is desperate to move away from the Bernabeu outfit since he has struggled massively to find some playing time, and would be keen to play for Roma. Meanwhile, Cristante has flourished this season for Atalanta and has become one of the team’s top players while also becoming a reliable goalscoring threat from a midfield position.
The 23-year-old Cristante has 10 goals in 36 appearances for Atalanta across all competitions. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old Ceballos has only registered 16 appearances (five starts) for Los Blancos this season, notching two goals.
