There could be changes coming at Bayern Munich during the January transfer window… and these could be substantial. According to several reports all over Europe, the reigning Bundesliga could be getting ready for one departure and one new arrival during the January transfer window.
Per The Sun – citing German outlet Bild – star centre-back Mats Hummels is preparing to leave Bayern due to his lack of playing time since the arrival of Niko Kovac, who has a strict rotation policy and that has cut Hummels’ minutes considerably. The German international is considering to move elsewhere, and Manchester United could be his prefered destination.
This is not the first time Hummels has been linked with a move to Old Trafford. In fact, the defender himself rejected a move to the Premier League back in 2014 when he was still with Dortmund.
Not everything is related to departures at Dortmund, though, as Die Roten are also active looking to reinforcements and they would be open to make a move for Roma star Cengiz Under. Though he’s only 21 years old, Bayern see him as the perfect replacement for Arjen Robben on a long-term scenario.
It remains to be seen whether Roma would be willing to sell, though. The Turkey international has been a hit in the Italian capital since arriving from Basaksehir in 2017, scoring 11 goals and adding six assists in 45 appearances for the club, including two goals and four assists in 10 appearances this season.
Under would reportedly cost around €60m.
