Liverpool Reportedly Open To Talk With FC Barcelona For Coutinho

Philippe Coutinho’s fate has been one of the biggest transfer stories this summer.

The Liverpool playmaker emerged as a driving force for the Anfield club this past season, and Barcelona have been interested to sign him since the transfer window. The departure of Neymar to PSG only increased Barca’s desire to land the Brazilian, but talks had stalled over the past few weeks.

However, things changed quickly over the past few days. Barcelona have money to spend, Coutinho is keen to play for Los Blaugranas, and it seems a transfer will be completed in the coming days. In fact, Barcelona will send officers to England to present a first offer, and it has been rumored the total amount of the potential transfer would go over the €100 million mark.

If the transfer goes through, Coutinho could easily become one of the best deals Liverpool ever made. They signed the Brazilian from Inter back in 2012 for a mere €11 million. The Brazilian international shined with Liverpool last season, as he netted 14 goals and added nine assists over 36 appearances across all competitions for The Reds.

Coutinho would become the latest deadly weapon of an attack that already features Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. And if we consider Barca have over €220 million to spend, all signs indicate the transfer will go through sooner than later.
