Valencia have been one of the biggest surprises in La Liga this season. Los Che have enjoyed a stunning start to the season, and currently sit in second place behind FC Barcelona.
However, they know they must improve the side and add some depth if they want to continue fighting near the top of the standings during the entire season. And one player they are looking to target is none other than Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
According to a report from The Sun, Valencia want to sign the French playmaker during the January transfer window since head coach Marcelino believes the former Newcastle and Toulouse playmaker is exactly what the team needs.
The 28-year-old midfielder would also add some much-needed experience to Valencia, and could act as a mentor for younger players such as Carlos Soler and Andreas Pereira. Sissoko was already a transfer target for Valencia during the past summer, but the Mestalla outfit failed to complete the deal. Now they want to give another try in order to land a player Marcelino is keen to acquire.
Despite some improved performances this season, Tottenham fans have never enjoyed Sissoko’s displays, and some even believe he was been one of the worst signings the club has made in recent years. Especially if we consider the Spurs splashed a whooping £30M on his signature last year. He has not settled, and there is no question he would welcome an exit from the Wembley outfit as soon as possible.
