Done Deal: Leicester sign Bartosz Kapustka for £7.5m

Premier League champions Leicester City have made their fifth signing of the summer with Bartosz Kapustka, 19, joining in a £7.5m deal from Cracovia.

A member of the Poland Euro 2016 squad, the youngster already has 11 caps to his name having made his international debut in September 2015.

An attacking midfielder who is comfortable on either flank, Kapustka made his debut for Cracovia in a 1 – 1 draw against Widzew Lodz in March 2014. Since then, he has made a further 64 first team appearances in the Polish league and cup.

Kapustka has agreed a five-year deal and travelled to Stockholm where the Foxes were beaten 2 – 4 by Barcelona. Having lost 0 – 4 to Paris St Germain at the weekend, the two friendlies have been harsh introductions to life at Europe’s top table.

Speculation intensified that the signing indicated the imminent departure of Riyad Mahrez, 25. Arsenal have been strongly linked with the Algerian playmaker and whilst a fee of £37m is mooted, no official bid has been made according to the Foxes.

Leicester are determined to hold on to the winger with a new contract worth £100,000 per week being prepared. Algerian media sources claim that Mahrez is likely to opt for the club he feels will offer the best opportunity for success and not necessarily the one which offers most money.
