Bayern Munich currently have one of the best right-backs in the world in Joshua Kimmich. However, the Germany international is known for his versatility and that could allow Bayern to try and find an upgrade at that position if it suddenly becomes available.
Enter Benjamin Pavard. The 22-year-old France international has taken the world by storm with his stunning displays in the 2018 World Cup, and is coming off scoring an impressive goal against Argentina the last time out. And now he has firmly entered in Bayern’s radar so a move could be expected in the near future.
Stuttgart are not keen to part ways with their star player this summer, though. But according to a report from German outlet Bild, Bayern have already set up a plan in order to sign the talented defender as soon as possible.
Board chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, club president Uli Hoenes and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic have reportedly consulted the new coach Niko Kovac and moved forward to open talks with Stuttgart over a transfer that should go through in 2019.
The two sides have reportedly already made an agreement over a €35 million transfer fee. Pavard is attracting interest elsewhere in the Bundesliga, however, as both Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are keen to sign him if the chance arises.
