AC Milan star midfielder Franck Kessie has been the subject of lots of transfer rumours of late. The Ivorian international is reportedly keen to play at the highest level and he would consider his options in case AC Milan fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League at the end of the current season.
And two of the top sides in the Premier League, Chelsea and Tottenham, are said to be hot on the trail of the talented central midfielder, who joined AC Milan from Atalanta back in 2017 on a two-year loan deal.
The two-year loan deal features an obligation to buy at the end of the current season, though, and it is believed AC Milan are required to pay £19.5 million to secure his signature on a permanent deal. They are keen to do so, but we shouldn’t expect Milan to hold on to him if they finish outside of the Top 4 once again.
The Ivorian’s desire to play in the Champions League is not the only thing that could force Kessie out of Milan, though. The Serie A giants might need to balance their books eventually and they have been in hot waters with FFP rules in the past. This could be a case next summer and if it happens, Kessie could be one of the first players to leave the side.
In addition to Chelsea and Tottenham, French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in the Ivory Coast international. In any case, his destiny seems to be away from Milan once the current season ends.
