Real Madrid starlet Dani Ceballos wants a new start and is keen to link up with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, claims talkSPORT.

The 21-year-old midfielder moved to the Bernabeu from Real Betis last summer in a €18m deal. Despite signing a six-year contract, the Spain Under-21 international is keen to leave the Spanish capital after starting just two La Liga matches for the under-fire defending champions.

Speaking in the media, Ceballos claims he was fed “false assurances” by Real head coach Zinedine Zidane which persuaded him to join Los Blancos instead of moving to Barcelona. Whether he would have been better off at the Camp Nou is another matter. If he cannot establish himself at Real Madrid, it is no easier with the Blaugrana!

With aspirations of making Julien Lopetegui’s squad for the World Cup finals in Russia this summer, Ceballos is keen to move on and establish himself as a first choice in a first-team for one of Europe’s major clubs.

The Spanish news outlet, Diario Gol, declares he has set his heart on a move to Liverpool, who were previously linked with the youngster.

Ceballos’ ambition is being fuelled by the imminent departure of Philippe Coutinho, 25, to the Camp Nou in a spectacular £130m deal. Many observers believe he would be a like-for-like replacement and fit seamlessly into the Reds line-up.
