A three-way battle for the signature of Barcelona misfit Denis Suarez, reports the Express.

Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan are all monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation. The midfielder is surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou this season. Ernesto Valverde used the once-capped Spain international in the Copa Del Rey and Champions League but has shunned the midfielder in La Liga.

Suarez is in the penultimate year of his Barcelona contract with the one-year extension based on appearances unlikely to be triggered. As his career stalls in Catalunya, a second departure from the Camp Nou becomes increasingly likely.

Former Sevilla boss Unai Emery is keen to be reunited with Suarez, who spent a year in Andalusia under the-now Arsenal boss’ tutelage in 2014/15. However, Premier League rivals Chelsea are also looking at Suarez with Cesc Fabregas seemingly heading to AC Milan. The Blues are determined to maintain the depth in their squad although the Barcelona man may view it as jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.

Milan themselves are desperate to maintain the momentum which sees them sitting fourth in Serie A with a return to the Champions League their aim.

The biggest obstacle to the Italians hopes is Suarez himself. The Spaniard has previously made it clear his preferred destination is north London where Emery’s reign continues to make its’ impressive start.
