Napoli know they have one of the most talented, up-and-coming stars in the Serie A in the form of Piotr Zielinski. And apparently, the Italian heavyweights are willing to do everything they can – and possibly more – in order to prevent him from leaving the club in the near future.
The 24-year-old Poland international is actually keen to extend his contract with the Partenopei. This would represent a huge blow for Liverpool’s transfer plans, as The Reds have been following Zielinski’s situation closely in order to make a move for him if the chance arises.
However, their chances of signing the Polish would reduce significantly if he inks a new long-term deal with the Partenopei squad. Zielinski’s agent is pushing for an €80 million release clause to be inserted in any future deals with Napoli, though, so there might be a slim hope of getting him as long as teams are willing to meet Napoli’s demands.
Zielinski is expected to extend his current deal with Napoli until 2023 and the Serie A side is not keen on potentially adding a release clause into the deal, as this might give teams the chance of making a move for him in the near future.
The central midfielder has been thriving for Napoli this season, registering two goals in 18 appearances (across all competitions) during the current term.
