Jose Mourinho received more good news from north London this weekend with Tottenham naming their price for left-back Danny Rose, reports the Daily Star on Sunday.

Manchester United beat Arsenal 3 – 1 in a pulsating Premier League match on Saturday evening. Despite the win, Mourinho’s defence endured an uncomfortable ninety minutes, winning largely due to an astonishing performance from David De Gea, 27.

The performance emphasised United’s need to add depth to their defence with Luke Shaw, 22, on his way out of Old Trafford having failed to impress Mourinho with either his fitness or form.

Rose, dropped by Mauricio Pochettino for the recent calamitous North London Derby, was reportedly furious at missing out on what remains the biggest fixture of any Tottenham season.

The 27-year-old is valued at £45m by the Lilywhites whose move into the new White Hart Lane next season is now under threat due to escalating costs.

Pochettino has Ben Davies, Wales 24-year-old left-back in his starting line-up and despite Rose’s preference for staying with the club he has registered close to 150 appearances for.

However, the Doncaster-born England international will find a move to Old Trafford hard to resist, particularly with the 2018 World Cup finals at the forefront of every player’s mind.
