Arsenal & PSG Set For Stunning Swap Deal

The speculation surrounding Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez is relentless even though most Gooners believe he will move to Manchester City next summer. However, Paris St Germain are set to test his resolve if Daily Star reports are true.

The French league leaders know they are not the 28-year-old Chilean’s first choice when he leaves north London but are hoping he’ll be persuaded by a £10m signing-on fee. For a club with FFP woes resulting from the signing of Neymar Jr, 26, and Kylian Mbappe, 18, it’s a phenomenal sum of money.

But it will be offset by the departure of Julian Draxler. The 24-year-old has long been linked with a move to the Emirates and that may now happen.

PSG propose swapping the German international for Sanchez with no cash either way. The deal works for Arsenal, gaining a star player to replace a star player who would otherwise leave on a free transfer. Given they were planning on paying £90m for Thomas Lemar, 21, in the summer, it’s a massive bonus for the Gunners.

The deal may yet be scuppered if a bid arrives from Manchester City. Sanchez’s preference is believed to be reuniting with Pep Guardiola, the manager who signed at Barcelona, although AC Milan are rumoured to be prepared to pay £75m for the Chilean.

A man very much in demand but with the potential to be a win-win for his current employers as well if they can agree terms for the Draxler swap.
